Structure Fire; INC#87204; March 30th, 23:20 PM; East Beach; LSFD companies were dispatched out to East Beach for a structure fire. A residential building on East Beach Highway was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked for approximately fifty-five minutes to contain and extinguish the flames. During the course of an interior sweep, part of the building collapsed in on itself, and trapped a firefighter. The remaining on-scene personnel rushed to her aid, and removed the fallen debris. The firefighter's Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus was crushed during the incident. She was rushed to the hospital, where she unfortunately passed away. She had sustained a serious injury, and lost too much blood for doctors to save her. Our hearts go out to her family and friends. Cause of the fire is unknown, and is still being investigated by our arson unit. Fire Station 11. Dispatched LSFD units: RA11, E11, T11.
In remembrance of Christina Adams; fallen but never forgotten.
